If you’re interested in starting a franchise in Australia, you can't go wrong with Boost Juice, the country's most beloved and widely recognised juice brand. These popular juice and smoothie bars aren't just a hit in Australia; they are gaining popularity worldwide, with over 600 locations across 15 different countries and counting.
This article will answer all your questions about launching a Boost Juice franchise, including the 12-step application process and the costs involved in starting your own Boost Juice Bar. First, let's take a look at the story behind this iconic Australian brand and the vision that led its founder, Janine Allis, to remarkable success.
The Boost Juice Success Story
In 1999, while travelling across America, Janine observed the easy availability of healthy juices and smoothies. At that time, unhealthy fast food chains dominated the Australian market, particularly in shopping centres. This experience inspired the idea for Boost Juice. Upon returning to Adelaide, Janine opened her first Boost Juice Bar. The novelty of this first location quickly attracted many imitators, leading Janine to accelerate her goal of establishing a Boost Bar in every major shopping centre in Australia.
Recognising the need for growth, Janine began exploring franchising early on. By 2004, Boost had successfully opened 150 shops across Australia

How Much Does a Boost Juice Franchise Cost?
A new Boost Juice store will cost approximately 220,000 AUD - 350,000 AUD + GST.
This price covers:
- franchise fee
- design and fit out of the store
- equipment
- training
In addition to the initial purchase price, you should also consider budgeting for working capital, start-up inventory, and local marketing. Boost recommends setting aside 10% of the purchase price as working capital to purchase stock when you start your store.
When buying a new store, the typical cost is around 300,000 AUD plus GST. Based on this example, you would need to have 30,000 AUD allocated for working capital.
You can purchase an existing Boost Juice franchise for sale. In this case, you will need to negotiate the sale price with the current owner or their appointed broker. In addition to the sale price, a 2,200 AUD application deposit, along with a training fee of 14,000 AUD plus GST, will be required.
After the franchising fee and store establishment costs are paid, you will be required to pay an ongoing royalty fee of 8% + GST, and a marketing fee of 3% + GST.
How Much Can You Earn From a Boost Juice Franchise?
Factors such as location, size, and competition level influence the average profits of a Boost Juice franchise, which is why Boost cannot provide precise figures. Once you sign the Confidentiality Agreement (Step 5), Boost will share historical sales data from their franchise network along with a financial planning guide to help you understand the potential profitability you can expect.
Training and Support: What Does Boost Juice Offer its Franchisees?
Boost offers a comprehensive training program for its new partners, spanning three weeks. This training takes place at Boost's Support Centre in Melbourne and covers both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, including customer service, troubleshooting, and smoothie preparation.
Additionally, the Learning & Development team provides support during your initial days of operation. After this initial support period, you can reach out to their Support Centre for any questions or assistance you may need.
Boost helps you fully understand the various aspects of operating your business, so you feel confident when stepping into your new Boost store. Their support teams provide assistance in various areas, including customer service, marketing, IT, finance, leasing, product and supply, human resources, and store design. Additionally, they have a dedicated team of operations professionals in each state to help their network with day-to-day needs.
You will also have a dedicated Franchise Business Consultant (FBC) who will work with you to overcome challenges and leverage strengths.
Boost Franchise Agreement Term
The term of the Franchise Agreement for a new Boost Juice Store is 7 years. If purchasing an existing store, you will be offered the term left on the existing agreement.
Retail Lease Term
A retail lease term is typically 4-6 years in duration. The retail lease term is set by the landlord, and while Boost will always try to get you the best possible term, it is possible that your franchise term and lease term do not always correspond. You can call the Boost Juice Franchising team for further clarification at (03) 9508 4009.
