Andrew Newall, Fit4less Towerhill

05 November 2012

Andrew Newall, 27, first had the idea of opening a gym in 2009 when he was convinced that there must be a cheaper and better alternative to paying extortionate prices for 'lifting weights'.

Having already created his first business in Canada and selling it to make an undisclosed amount, Andrew wanted to look at UK fitness opportunities in the franchise world. He discovered energie and its Fit4less brand and immediately bought into the concept, taking up four sites with the first opening in 2010 in Tower Hill, London.

Fit4less Tower Hill occupies 6500 square feet and features state-of-the-art Precor equipment, within the cardio theatre. The kit consists of treadmills, cross trainers, Active Motion Trainers, upright and recumbent bikes, concept two rowing machines and the most recent addition of a PowerPlate®. Downstairs in the resistance and free weights area, users have access to 2-50kg dumbbells, flat and incline bench press equipment, bent over row and an FTS Glide to name but a few. The resistance machinery is all “C Line” - Precor’s highest end range. The club also features a spacious free weights area and large changing facilities.

Before opening Andrew sold over 700 memberships and is now making significant profit.

Andrew said: “In just two years I have built a successful Fit4less business that turned over 44k in January 2012 alone. I’ve now bought a new car and am looking to open my second Fit4less gym!”

Andrew admits that his club has been more popular than he had anticipated which has led him to push for his second club opening sooner than predicted. Because of the nature of a Fit4less club, the gym practically runs itself, freeing up Andrew to look at expanding his portfolio and enjoying life.

With business success comes financial rewards, which have seen Andrew recognised as a successful and respected entrepreneur - all before the age of 30.
