My wife is the public face as front of house and I am the cook with no other staff and we have been lucky enough to have been ranked within the top 2% of restaurants globally.

This is a successful business running at a small percentage of its capacity because that’s our lifestyle balance choice. As it is successful, this makes any risk for an investor or working owners quite low but with immense opportunities to expand services into lunch and/or breakfast and/or catering etal.

Why sell? We need to do something else. 16 years is enough.

A hands off investor purchasing the business and staffing it could return about 25% just on current business levels and feel secure with ATO Bas validation, a physical replacement cost of circa $215,000, no leases, no trade debts and everything works.

The business is valued through and by the internationally recognised method of ‘capitalised future earnings’ on just current takings without figuring in the significant value of inherent opportunities.

We are busy nearly all the time but to provide some guidance the last 6 weeks prior to Christmas [we have been travelling the world since] proved revenue of circa $8,000 per week, COS at 27% and fixed expenses at circa $1,000 per week including rent and all in 30 hours!

And remember any extended hours over our chosen 30 will show a 70% nett profit as overheads are already accounted for. Increase business by say 10 people per week and take home another $700!
