Well established Auto Parts Manufacturer Distributor (the “Company”) manufactures and distributes auto interior replacement parts for cars and light trucks to retailers and specialty auto shops. The current owner has been with the company for over 40 years and is retiring. The sale includes manufacturing equipment, a website, and customer relationships going back many years.
This Company has recently added Amazon and E-Bay to its distribution chain and these two have become the second largest “customer” at 18% of the company’s sales. The largest customer is 26% of the company’s sales and the third largest customer is 12% of sales. The company’s website is well designed and allows for distributor and individuals to inquire about products and services. The website does not allow for direct purchases in that the Company does not wish to compete directly with its B2B customers; however a link to their E-Bay store provides the customer with a diverse selection of the Company’s offerings.
Most of the personnel have been with the Company for many years and provide a structure that assures continuity.
Sales increased by 13.7% from 2017 to 2018. This increase was due, in part, to the return of one product line whose supplier had problems delivering to the Company in a timely manner.
Seller’s discretionary income increased by 31.6%,from $212K in 2017 to $279, in 2018 as a result of increased sales driven, in part, by the improving economy, online sales, and the return of timely delivery of a major product line. First quarter 2019 results are ahead of first quarter 2018.
Sales remain consistent over time.
