This is an established business that has been operated for many years. Sales for the current year and the previous 2 years are well over $1m, so this is a very profitable business which operates from a home office. It is not location dependent nor does it incur high overheads, and provides a lot of flexibility for the owner. It provides specialist services to the education sector, and more particularly schools by providing health and fitness related programs. There are relationships in place with many schools and the related staffing of these institutions which supply a steady flow of work, which has been growing year on year. These relationships ultimately revolve around the reputation, quality and timeliness of the work performed.
The Vendor mostly undertakes the administration, sales proposals, staff training and co-ordination of the work. The business engages many very experienced sub-contractors who undertake the work only after being fully trained. The business has a variety of intellectual property including training procedures and other materials in place to undertake the work. This has been refined and improved over the many years the business has been in operation. This business would suit someone who is organised and has some general understanding of this type of work and perhaps with marketing experience as well. The Vendor advises that she is willing to stay on with a new owner for a period of time to train the buyer if needed. Also she is prepared to remain as a consultant if desired for a specified period.
The Purchaser could keep the business at the same level or perhaps look towards increasing the size of the business by expanding further in Western Australia and also into the Eastern States. The business could also potentially be “added on” to another business in an aligned industry or perhaps a business from the Eastern States wishing to expand into Western Australia. The Vendor has specified that potential Purchasers will need to demonstrate financial capacity of +$1.5m to acquire the business before the Information Memorandum will be provided.
